Ready? Not sure?

Consider this: Languages are like keys to new continents and enriching experiences. But learning German is a very unique endeavor. It brings you closer to countries with a rich cultural heritage. It helps you to understand the most commonly spoken language in Europe. And it connects you with 120 million native German speakers around the globe.

Still hesistant? Ok, then the following list should definitely convince you: :-)

4 Reasons to learn German

1

Become As Successful As Heidi Klum

Germany's most popular export is not only a super model, but also the executive producer of the successful TV show "Project Runway", a mother of 3 kids and beloved wife of hunky-chunky pop star Seal. Her only weakness is not even a flaw: she speaks English with the cutest German accent. If you're willing to learn Heidi's native language, I guarantee you that you will become as successful, versatile and cute as she is.
2

Experience The Matterhorn Like A Local

Take the Schwarzsee cable car up from Zermatt, hike up to the "Hörnlihütte" (elevation 10700 ft), enjoy the infamous Swiss Fondue for dinner, share a bottle of "Kirsch" brandy with the other adventurers, wake up the following day at sunrise, enjoy the view of Switzerland's pride, the Matterhorn - and you will witness a spectacular nature experience with one of the world's most beautiful mountains like a local. For authenticity's sake, your conversations are german only.
3

Inhale The Wisdom Of Goethe

Of course there are always translated editions, but there is nothing like reading an ingenius play like "Faust" or a mind-blowing poem like "Erlkönig" in its original language. No exaggeration - but if there is one guy who belongs on your personal list of "Authors I have to read before I day", then it's Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, larger-than-life author, poet, philosopher and scientist - and the poster child of German literature.
4

Hear The Real Sound Of Music

If you know how to communicate in German, you can have an in-depth conversation with Austrian historian Franz Matthias Wasner. He knows everything about the real story and the real original locations of "Sound Of Music", one of America's most well-known Broadway musicals and movie classics. And if you're really nice to him and invite him for a hearty portion of "Salzburger Nockerl", he might lead you to the all the sights where the filming took place in the beautiful city of Salzburg, Mozart's place of birth. You get the scoop - while other "Sound of Music" aficionados still looking for evidence in Switzerland.
5

Enter The Land Of Coolness

Let's just face it: German is cool! If you learn German, your image will immediately improve and be enhanced with a irresistible aura of coolness. Everybody will associate you with what people and products from the German-speaking countries are famous for: being competent, delivering high quality and living sophistication. Of, course, there's the obvious: luxury cars like Mercedes, BMW and Audi. But also think of cool German designers like Helmut Lang or Lagerfeld, hip brands like Adidas, Swatch and Red Bull and worldwide known superstars like Roger Federer, Claudia Schiffer and Michael Schumacher. And don't forget all the cool geniuses who made major contributions in literature, art, technology, science and architecture over the last centuries: Beethoven, Einstein, Freud, Nietzsche, Klee and Kafka; just to name a few. There would be much more to mention, but the point is: Start to learn German - and you will enter the land of coolness!
