As the Head of Content & SEO at San Francisco-based payments processing company Square, Marc is currently leading the content and SEO strategy globally, having built teams and processes from scratch.
Prior to his position at Square, he worked as a Global Digital Marketing Manager & Strategist at Amazon.com for over 3 years, spearheading large-scale content and SEO initiatives, supporting product launches (Kindle, Amazon Fashion etc.) and international market expansions (Asia, Latin America, Europe).
Marc’s passion for content creation has its roots in his professional background in journalism. As a U.S. West coast correspondent for Financial Times, he contributed numerous articles about news and trends in information technology, new media, and e-commerce, including interviews with Jeff Bezos, Roy Disney, and Francis Ford Coppola.
Before that, he managed the website of Switzerland’s largest business magazine, Bilanz.ch, and worked as an investigative journalist, news coordinator and editor for numerous dailies and weeklies.
Marc graduated in Business Economics from the University of Zurich (Switzerland), studied at the University of Cambridge (English) and UC Santa Barbara (communications & journalism) and holds a certificate for Advanced Search Marketing from the Search Engine Academy in Los Angeles.
He resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, where he enjoys hiking, biking, photography, film and poetry in his spare time.
